30 weeks

30 weeks hurts! I forgot how much the last trimester can hurt. Darn my forgetting being pregnant brain!

I hurt for three reasons... or maybe more.

1.  Baby boy kicks, punches, stretches or just moves and it hurts.
2.  Braxton Hicks contractions. These are not often or regular, but when they occur, they hurt.
3.  General abdominal pain. This is pain in the muscles right under my belly and in my back and hips and all over.  No real reason for this pain, but it usually occurs at the end of a day, usually when I have been more active.

Despite all this pain, I still get up at 6am and go to work and come home and make dinner and play with my girl.  I know what the result is, I know it will all be worth it and I know I have only 10 more weeks to go.  That is not to much at all.

Next week, I will be able to count down in single digit weeks.  I look forward to that.

People have begun to ask if I am "due any time" or "due in the next couple of weeks."  Just a general FYI, this is an awful question, do not ask it.  Do not attempt to guess a pregnant woman's due date if you don't remember it.

Additionally, two people have asked me if I am having twins.  Again, this is an awful question, never ask it.  If a pregnant woman offers up the information that she is carrying twins, act surprised and comment her on how she doesn't look it.  Otherwise, never bring up twins... ever.

I find myself being more irritable, more emotional, and more grumpy.  I'm trying to stay positive and cheery, especially for Nicole who does not understand, but it is a challenge.  I broke down crying last night because I was hurting and emotional and Nicole kept asking, "Daddy, Mamma okay?"  I try to put on a happy face for her so that she doesn't get worried because she will often start crying if I am crying and then try to climb up me to give me kisses, which only hurts me more and makes her cry harder and exclaim, "I sorry Mamma!"

So, you will still get no belly pictures.  Just imagine what I would look like if I were having twins and that is apparently how big I am. (I am not having twins.)

Even though I have not seen a belly pic, I am sure you do not look even half way pregnant. See, I know what to say to a pregnant woman. I look really REALLY pregnant. Look at my blog. My maternity shirts are getting to be too small. How big will I be in 10 weeks? She had better be out of me ten weeks from now or I will be murdering people.
It sucks how bad 30 weeks hurts. My kid is killing my pelvis bone. Whenever I stand up, pain shoots down my legs. It is not lovely.

I'm sorry pregnancy is so painful for you. But you're right -- at least you know the best part is coming. And if it helps to brighten your day a little, I'm putting your carseat cover in the mail tomorrow. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but it's pretty darn cute. (Joel says it's his favorite one I've made so far.)

People are crazy. Guessing how far along a person's pregnancy is is like guessing a woman's weight, you don't stinkin do it. Just punch them in the face nine times.

Adrianne, I think the same thing. How big will I be in ten weeks? At least your doctor is letting you induce early. It will all be over soon.

Jasmine, Yay! I'm super excited for my carseat cover! I didn't have one for my last baby and I've been jealous of Marie's.

Sarah, You are my designated face puncher.

Ahhhhhh pregnancy. I still can't wrap my head around doing that again. It's torture. It's cruel. How did our mom do it 7 times?! And that was before they induced early. Yeah....maybe one kid is enough.

Agreed about the comments. My favorite one when I was pregnant with Sean was..."You look absolutely miserable." I just overheard one this past week that made me want to cry for the expectant mother: "You still have 3 months? You look like you're due any time". Ouch. Getting to single digits is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there!
